Audio books

I love to listen to audio books, because I do not have much time to actually sit down and read. On my way to work or shopping, while cleaning or baking I make use of my time and my iPod.

This is a list of  this year’s favorites:

The Help by Kathryn Stockett: This is a portrait of black maids in Jackson, Mississippi in the early 60’s and the aspiring female white journalist trying to tell their stories. This audio book is one of the best I have ever listened to because of the fascinating story and the excellent readers.

The World Without Us by Alan Weisman: What would happen to our planet, if mankind simply disappeared? How would your house look like without your care? How would New York change? What kind of animals and plants would survive and which ones would probably not? Would petrochemical factories and nuclear power plants blow up?
